Mama Hali Abdullahi is the visionary founder of Urgub Group. After the collapse of Somalia’s central government in 1991, like many from the northeast regions-now known as Puntland she fled the civil war in southern Somalia and moved to Bosaso city the economic capital of Puntland state Bosaso. In 1998, she started a small gas station, marking the beginning of her entrepreneurial journey. By 2002, she expanded into construction, purchasing her first loader.

With a deep passion for construction, rooted in her early career in construction management, she gradually built Urgub Group into a company equipped with modern machinery. In 2021, she stepped down as CEO, passing leadership to her youngest son, Abdirizak Osman, who now serves as chairman. Beyond business, Hali has dedicated herself to philanthropy, funding numerous charity projects, including shelters for families displaced by conflict in war-torn regions.
